Job Description
ORPC’s wholly owned Canadian subsidiary, EMARQ, headquartered in Montreal, is seeking a project manager to oversee the development of EMARQmarine renewable energy projects in Canada. He/she is accountable for the successful planning and execution of projects and is responsible for budget forecasting, coordinating internal teams, consultants and suppliers, resource assessment, contract execution, engineering, project finance and overall quality control of the work.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related discipline required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or Prince2 required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with project management in marine energy related projects, including, writing scope of work, scheduling, budgeting, document interpretation, pricing on hard bid, bid analysis, design-build, and negotiated projects
- Familiarity with local industry regulation
Job Responsibilities
- Developing project scope, objectives, schedule and budget involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Prioritize, plan, coordinate and track project development activities
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques and report regularly on project status
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, permits, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Initiate, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with all project partners and stakeholders
- Manage, review, and coordinate architectural/engineering projects and proposals developed in-house or by consultants
- Assist in the qualification of consultants used during pre-design and pre-construction services
- Perform negotiations for contractual terms and agreements
- Act as primary contact for federal, provincial and municipal agencies
- Identify project required permits and coordinate with municipal, provincial and federal agencies
Language Skills
- Fluent in English and French
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and production software (MS Project or equivalent)
- Knowledge of inventory software; design software; order processing systems; and database software.
